Elaine has a deep passion for supporting people to function at an optimal level and to experience a strong sense of overall well being and resilience. She has a sharp and incisive mind, which is balanced by a warmth and a keen Irish humour. She brings a wealth of business and life experience to her coaching and her commitment to her coaching excellence is evident to all who experience her professional skills.

Coaching Style

Elaine’s style is incisive, and challenging but blended with a warmth and empathy which works particularly well. Her legal training and background combined with her extensive commercial experience, enables her support her clients get to the “nub” of an issue, adeptly and sensitively.

With 10 years experience and a deep interest and understanding of human psychology, Elaine draws from a range of schools and approaches, particularly those relating to cognitive behavioural approaches; reframing, seeking alternative perspectives, challenging thought and behaviour patterns. In her continuing practice and commitment to excellence as a coach, she is also informed by positive psychology, particularly, learned optimism and understanding personal strengths. Her aim is always to support her clients to see what is positive and working in their particular situation rather than solely focusing on what’s not working. This “appreciative enquiry” approach, supports clients to retain a more balanced and optimistic outlook whilst working on developing and implementing desired changes. Elaine is particularly adept at supporting leaders into senior roles and supporting them during this crucial transition period, whilst they establish their own authentic executive presence.

Career Background

Prior to setting up her own business in Executive Coaching, mentoring and Leadership Development, Elaine spent 20 years in a variety of commercial roles. Originally trained as a lawyer, she used her expertise initially in helping to design and develop specialist legal support packages for the legal profession. Other roles ensued including lead marketing and account management roles of top City Law Firms. Elaine also has change management experience, having successfully transformed an ailing regional training company, into a leading Microsoft Authorised IT training centre.

Elaine has a particular interest in supporting individuals and organizations in developing their resilience. She runs resilience programmes and speaks regularly on this theme in coaching and HR forums.
